The Great Horned Owl is one of the most widely distributed birds in North America, and the continent’s heaviest, most powerful Owl. It thrives in nearly every ecosystem across the continent, from deserts to tundra edge, prairie to suburbia, and here in the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest.

Although they are residents of Nootka Sound, they are seldom seen in the area and require lots of patience and luck to locate.
